Henheadhow
Cornwall, UK
(Scrap Metal 2022)
Standing over 5 meters tall, Henheadhow is James Wild's most ambitious sculpture to date. This monumental artwork, crafted in multiple sections, uses reclaimed park fencing salvaged from Trewithen Estate—the very ground where it now stands. The name "Henheadhow," Cornish for "Generation," celebrates resourcefulness and the passage of time. James' creative repurposing of materials imbues the piece with layers of history from the scrap metal.
The sculpture's inscription reads: "Salvaged from the past, to ground you in the present and hope for the future." Through its impressive scale and thoughtful conception, Henheadhow possesses a powerful gravity that draws viewers in, encouraging them to find a deeper connection within themselves.
