Moose
Oxforshire, UK
(Scrap Metal 2015)
Melka the moose was an important landmark in James' evolution, this Scandinavian Moose sculpture marked his most ambitious project at the time. Created from scrap metal in the confined space of his grandmother's garage-turned-workshop, this piece challenged James and pushed him into a bigger workshop. Melka is galvanized and finished with a distressed rusted coat, ensuring its longevity. During the project, James visited a moose named Melka at Whipsnade Zoo, studying her form and movement. Melka's pride and strength is immortalized in this large sculpture.
