FAQs

Does James exhibit his sculptures?

Yes. Please find upcoming shows on the Exhibitions page of the website. You can also receive the latest news by subscribing or following on Instagram.

How are James' sculpture prices calculated?

The main considerations are time, cost and scale. Every commission is quoted individually with no obligation. The costs involved in creating a sculpture are higher than many art forms, and this is reflected in the price.

How long does it take to make and receive a sculpture?

It depends on whether it is a commission or a bronze edition. Commissions vary depending on scope and complexity. Bronze editions may be available immediately, but if not, they are typically ready within twelve weeks. The more lead time the better.

Can I visit James' workshop?

Yes. James would love to meet you and share more about his process and creative vision. Please get in touch via the contact page.

Does James do commissions?

Absolutely. Commissions are at the heart of James' work and he is always happy to talk through ideas, share thoughts and explore what might be possible. Again, with no obligation.

What size sculpture does James make?

All sizes. His portfolio ranges from sculptures bigger than a double decker bus down to a 7cm guinea fowl.

Can James make a sculpture from specific materials?

James loves to make his work as meaningful as possible and enjoys rooting as much personal significance into a piece as he can. This often involves collecting scrap metal or even receiving an old vehicle to take apart and upcycle into a sculpture.

What finishes can James do?

The medium dictates the finish and James is always experimenting. Durability is a key consideration, but as the portfolio shows, finishes range from bronze patina and replica rust to leaving the metal entirely au naturel.

Can sculptures be kept outside?

Yes. James will provide a maintenance guide where appropriate.

What is the payment process?

Commissions usually begin with a 50% deposit, with the balance due before delivery.

Does James sell sculptures internationally?

Yes. This is handled on a case by case basis and shipping can be arranged.

How do I look after my sculpture?

A maintenance guide will be provided alongside the sculpture where appropriate, so you have everything you need to care for it properly.

How is delivery and installation arranged?

Because there are so many variables, shipping is calculated and arranged separately from the sculpture price. Where possible James will deliver in person, otherwise he will build a delivery and installation plan around the client.

Is James interested in partnerships and supporting events?

Yes! Please reach out via the contact page and he will be delighted to have a conversation.
