Regeneration was sculpted from salvaged copper pipes, scaled up to two metres and cast in bronze using the lost wax process. It represents James' first exploration of modern sculpting techniques, opening up new creative possibilities and resulting in a truly unique work.

Built on a simple circular form, it blends beginning and end, capturing a continuous flow of regeneration.

Up close, hundreds of individual searching elements weave in and out, creating a raw energy, with fractures that disrupt and redirect the flow. Step back, and the chaos begins to resolve and find rhythm, settling into something more fluid. There is a calm within the chaos, where the piece's inspirations become more apparent: shoaling fish, flowing rivers, commuting humans, flocking birds, mycelial networks and roots.

The negative space at the heart is an invitation; an open portal with a gravity that draws you into a deeper and more grounded space within yourself.

Regeneration acts as a bridge to wilder instincts.
